Following Damon Hill's program "Wacky Races" in 1999, and a not-too-sensible discussion in a pub, 4 chaps decided that this Lawnmower racing lark sounded like a jolly good wheez! And so it began...............
The "Silly Sods" are Andy, John, Nick and Dave, 4 guys who served their apprenticeship together way back in 1986. A mutual love of the smell of petrol and oil has driven them to have much fun with many motorised things!

Not entirely sure what happened to 2004-2007, and now it's 2008!!!
There has been no racing for us at all since 2004, but we do keep up to date with events in the BLMRA.
We are currently putting the finishing touches to both Silly Sod and ARSE in readiness for their sale, which will be announced here shortly (March 2008).
In the meantime, check out the rest of the site for other info related to our racing days, and hobbies.
I have added a new page to cater for one of my other hobbies, that of a great British sportscar, the Marcos.
Here you will find some video clips from recent Marcos Club outings and events, also some pictures of my own 1986 Marcos Mantula, which I have reluctantly had to sell due to emigrating to Canada.
Who knows what will appear in it's place........
This website is slowly being completed, time and inspiration permitting, so don't despair if you find some of the pages are a little lacking
in content, I'll get round to them eventually
